LIFE ON THE INSIDE
These pictures have been taken inside Bang Kwang prison and show the conditions under which inmates must exist.


A room with a view, the toilets are of the open plan variety.

In the background a prisoner prepares food, very close to where the rubbish lies, rotting.

Thai prisoners have to work, here one works as a stonemason with no safety equipment at all.


A junkie prepares to shoot Heroin, freely available in the prison.

This prisoner has cracked up, he doesn't wear clothes until it rains, and then he gets dressed.

The following pictures were captured from a tape of a Thai TV programme which was made after the breakout of 1998.
