Qld man on drug charges in Borneo
October 28, 2005 - 4:07PM

The trial of a Queensland mine worker accused of using methamphetamine is to start on November 17 in Sangatan District Court in Kalimantan on Borneo, Indonesian prosecutors said on Friday.

John Michael Kelly, 45, from Warwick on the Darling Downs, was arrested in September after police allegedly found him smoking shabu shabu in his hotel room with a local woman.

Kelly, who worked for Thiess Indonesia, faces five years in jail under article 62 of Indonesia's tough psychotropic drug laws.
